There are two types of tourist visas in Canada:

Visa for an entry
Multiple entry visas
The same visa is valid for a certain period and can not be used after its expiry.

In an entry visa, the visa holder can only enter Canada once. Once the visa holder has left Canada, with the exception of a trip to the United States and Saint Pierre and Miquelon, he will need a new visa to return to Canada. If a traveler travels to the United States (including on its territory or property) or Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, he does not need a new visitor visa to return to Canada.

With a multiple-entry visa, visitors can enter and leave Canada for six months without having to re-apply each time. Multiple visas can be valid for up to 10 years or one month before the expiry of the visa holder’s visa, whichever comes first.

Steps to follow to apply for Canada Tourist Visa

Step 1: Determine how you will apply

You can apply for a tourist visa in two ways.Apply online – To apply online, you must have access to a credit card, scanner or camera to create electronic copies of your receipts. Step 2: Fill out the tourist visa application form

Read the instruction manual and write the application form carefully. Note that the completed application must contain a barcode page. You can cancel or refuse your request if you do not provide all the requested information, documents, and fees.

Step 3: Pay the processing fee

Pay the fees for your visa application. Payment must be made by bank check or certified check. Current bank charges and bank transfer details are shown on the payment schedule. Please note that you must check this website before paying the latest visa application fees.

Step 4: Visit the local Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC)

Go to the nearest Canadian Visa Application Center (CVAC). Do not forget to bring your passport, photographs, completed forms and all relevant documents in accordance with the checklist, CIC fees, and payment instructions.

Step 5: Submit over your application form
